A PLACE FOR MOMS.
The Mission
Glō Mom is a maternal health and wellness advocacy organization that seeks to amplify the voices of women, bringing light to our journey through motherhood and finding hope in every story. In addition to our advocacy efforts, we also provide education services and curate space for building community and support around mothers.
WHAT WE DO.
Our Work
Glō Mom is at work in several cities and rural communities throughout the United States. Central to our work is the curation of safe spaces for all moms-to-be with an intentional focus on women from vulnerable populations; a need well understood by Glō Mom Founder, a Social Entrepreneur who is also a woman of color and a mother.
We deliver lasting impact by providing maternal wellness literacy, education and personalized pregnancy and postpartum support, while empowering women everywhere to become better health advocates, always seeking to address the disparitites and social determinants of health facing women today.
WHO WE ARE.
The Team
NICOLE BROUSHET
Board Chair | Founder
Nicole Broushet is the Founder and Executive Director of Glō Mom. She is also a plant-based chef and social entrepreneur based in New England with a Master’s degree in Organizational and Human Resources Development and a concentration in Conflict Resolution. Her career in human resources / organizational psychology was mostly with international NGOs; International Rescue Committee and Human Rights Watch before following her passion for health education and advocacy in 2015.
Glō Mom was founded in response to the alarmingly high maternal mortality rate in the United States, especially among women of color; and the disparities in maternal health from pregnancy through postpartum. She has a specialized interest in the prevalence of perinatal mental health disorders in vulnerable communities and creating systems of support that address social determinants of health and reduce the risk of complications. As a mother and health advocate, Nicole is passionate about giving voice to women. As a woman of color she is acutely aware of the challenges that many women face in accessing quality care and mental health support and she is deeply committed to Glō Mom’s mission to amplify the voices of women and curate space to build community and support for mothers.

JAMILEX RIVAS
Board of Directors
Growing up in the inner city, pregnancy was not a foreign concept. The high school I attended was most notably known as “the pregnant school.” Between the rampant teen pregnancy, the media degrading mothers from areas like my own, and the young mothers in my family, womanhood and motherhood quickly become my passions. I joined Glō Mom because it fosters space for women that feel unheard. In many ways, women are being spoken for by men and other women who do not have their best interests in mind. I am delighted to join Glō Mom to uplift women and their voices.
